Case Management · Platform Profile
Clio Manage is the core practice management product of Clio — the $5B-valued company with a 250+ integration ecosystem, fresh off its $1B vLex acquisition and pushing into AI with Clio Duo and Clio Work.
Clio Manage is the practice management heart of Clio's platform: matter and contact management, time and expense tracking, billing and trust accounting, calendaring with court rules, document management, and a client portal. Founded in 2008 by Jack Newton and Rian Gauvreau and headquartered in British Columbia, Clio built its business on solo, small, and mid-sized general-practice firms and maintains one of the largest third-party ecosystems in legal software, with more than 250 integrations.
The company's recent moves reshaped the market. In March 2025 it acquired ShareDo, a UK enterprise legal work management platform, extending Clio into large firms. In November 2025 it completed a $1 billion acquisition of legal research company vLex — widely reported as the largest deal in legal tech history to date — alongside a $500 million Series G at a $5 billion valuation. The vLex deal brought Vincent AI research in-house; Clio Duo is the embedded AI assistant across the suite, and in April 2026 Clio Work, an AI workspace built on the vLex acquisition, became available to solo and small firms as a standalone product.
Within the suite, companion products handle the adjacent jobs: Clio Grow for intake, Clio Payments, Clio Draft, and Clio Accounting. Pricing is published in four per-user tiers — unusual transparency at its scale.
Historically solo, small, and mid-sized general-practice firms across most practice areas; the ShareDo acquisition extends it into large and enterprise firms. It is not PI-specific — plaintiff firms with heavy medical-records workflows usually compare it against PI-native systems — but its ecosystem breadth makes it the default general-purpose choice.

Clio's strategy is ecosystem gravity: practice management at the center, intake (Clio Grow), payments, drafting, accounting, and now research (vLex/Vincent) in orbit, with 250+ integrations covering what it doesn't build. For a firm, that means the Clio question is rarely about one module — it's about how much of the stack to consolidate into one vendor whose pieces are designed to pull each other in.
For plaintiff firms specifically, Clio Manage is the general-purpose contender: EvenUp syncs with it, and the intake layer can come from Clio Grow or third parties like Lawmatics. The tradeoff against PI-native systems is depth — liens, treatment tracking, and settlement mechanics arrive via customization and integrations rather than out of the box.
Historically small and mid-market, but the March 2025 ShareDo acquisition gives Clio an enterprise-grade platform for large firms.
Clio Duo is the embedded assistant. Clio Work — built on the 2025 vLex acquisition, including Vincent AI research — became available to smaller firms in April 2026, generally as separately priced capability.
No — intake is Clio Grow, a separate product bundled only in the top tier or purchased as an add-on.
It holds a $5 billion valuation and raised a $500 million Series G as of November 2025.
Systems firms typically evaluate alongside Clio Manage — competitors, complements, and the adjacent layers of the same stack.
