“At its core, perfectionism may essentially be an act of disowning our true selves.” Is it me, or does getting older (wiser?) necessarily prompt one to think more deeply and introspectively? I spent most of my professional life hell-bent on “proving” - what? Yeah. Your guess is as good as mine. I know that there were costs for the incessant striving, that’s for sure. I thought this was a rather insightful piece - the metaphor of “perfectionism” being some kind of Bobby Knight kind of coach drove its central point home. It’s worth the read, high achievers….
